Hydroponic Glossary

Enzyme -- A protein molecule produced by living organisms able to catalyze, or facilitate, a specific chemical reaction involving other substances without itself being destroyed or changed in any way.

S.O.G. (Sea Of Green) -- A technique of growing commonly used in hydroponics where a large number of small plants are grown.

Hydroponics --  Growing with mineral nutrient solutions instead of soil containing silt and clay. Plants may be grown with their roots in the mineral nutrient solution only or in an inert medium, such as perlite, gravel or rockwool.
