In Flood and Drain or Ebb & Flood systems the table or planter of the system is filled with medium and is flooded with a nutrient solution periodically when a timer turns on the systems water pump, it is then allowed to flow away. The plant gets everything it requires as well as oxygen delivered directly to the root zone.
