Air-Cooled Coolshade Lighting Systems
Coolshade Lighting Kits product details:
These lighting kits feature the Coolshade reflector which is arguably the most effective air-cooled reflector on the market. Its simple design enables extremely efficient air throughput and great cooling. The reflector has been recently redesigned to include a reflector attatchment that better spreads the light. To use this reflector you would need to employ a suitable extractor fan. Which fan to use would depend on how you intend to use the Coolshade:
The best way to use Coolshade lights is to get an extra extraction fan that just runs the light. You want to use this fan and some suitable ducting to get the coolest air possible, move it through your Coolshade and then extract it out and away from your growing environment so you don't then recycle the hot air. Use the info below to select a fan for use with your coolshade light.
Single Coolshade: RVK125 or RVK150A1 Two Coolshades: RVK150A1 Four Coolshades: RVK150L1 or RVK200A1 If you simply can't afford an extra fan or space won't allow for it you can run your main extraction fan through the Coolshade reflector but this would be less effective as the air would already be warm.
Lumatek, Maxibright or Compact?
Our lighting systems are now available with a choice of three ballasts, the Lumatek, Maxibright or the Compact. All of these powerpacks are made with the highest quality components, are extremely reliable and feature thermal cutouts and timed ignitors for safety. The differences between these ballasts are that:
- The Compact is sealed in resin and the Maxibright comes in a vented metal box. Which means the Compact runs a little quieter but the Maxibright runs a little cooler.
- The Compact powerpacks come with a 1 year guarantee as standard and the Maxibright comes with a 3 year guarantee as standard
- If you can afford them though the digital lumatek ballast is the most advanced unit we have available. Lumateks are digital so have enormous benefits over the compact and maxibright. Lumatek ballasts run cooler, quieter and more efficiently so you always get consistant light output.
