The all new dimmable 600w digital ballast from Lumatek represents another leap forward in grow room lighting systems. These fantastic new ballasts feature a dimmable dial that allows you to run a 600w bulb at 360w, 400w, 600w and even 660w. This means that by using the Lumatek dimmable digital ballast you can vary your light intensity throughout your grow cycle saving you money on electricity and producing higher yields. You can even set the dimmable ballast to 400w and use a 400w metal halide bulb for better vegetative growth.

Lumatek Dimmable 600w Digital Ballast usage:
Using the Lumatek Dimmable 600w Digital Ballast allows you to vary the intensity of your light to best suit your plants development which will save you a lot of money on electricity and produce higher yields. The ballast features a dial with four settings : 360w, 400w, 600w and super lumens which works out to about 660/675w:
- Early veg phase 360 watts - small plants don't have need for massive amounts of light so by running your 600w light at 360w for 18 hours a day you're nearly halving your electricity costs for this period with no harm to your plants growth.
- Late veg phase / Early flower 400watts - As your plants grow in size and start to get a bit of size up the dial to 400watts until a few days into the flowering phase of growth.
- Early flower 600watts - From a few days into flower until the flowers start to form set your Lumatek ballast to 600watts
- Late flower SUPER LUMENS - When your flowers start to form on your plants set your Lumatek ballast to the super lumens setting which will deliver 660/675 watts to your plants and give them a nice little boost. You could leave the ballast on this setting till harvest time or some research suggests that you could drop the light intensity back to 400w or 360w for the last week.
- Metal Halide? - Another really nice feature of the dimmable Lumatek ballast is that you can when it is set to 400w run a 400w metal halide bulb in place of the 600w sodium which would give you better plant development in the grow phase. So if following the above plan you could use a 400w metal halide up until the first week of flower which would also reduce plant stretching a bit.
SAFETY INFO : Do not switch the dial on the Lumatek digital ballast until the light has been operational for ten minutes or more and preferabley try to change the setting when the ballast is off to preserve bulb life if possible.
