How to grow all year round indoors

Our indoor gardens are constantly emulating mother nature, and for indoor gardeners when it's cooler outside it is so much simpler to control the grow room temperature. Due to the air entering your grow room been cooler - you can create the best environment for your plants, flower or vegetables and tweak humidity levels as and when required. Regardless of your budget - you will need a Digital Combo Hygrometer or an AirComfort Wireless Temperature Humidity Sensor to monitor - temperature and humidity levels.

So when it gets hot outside what can you do to stop those grow room temperatures sky rocketing? Your options are limitless - however our budget will always dictate what we can afford, but if you are just starting out or setting up a new grow room - then think out the box - if you intend to grow all year round - the equipment you invest in NOW will determine the quality and quantity of your produce in the hotter and cooler seasons...

Simple Grow Room Changes:

  • Raise your Grow lights as high as possible from plant canopy 
  • Make sure your ballast is outside of the grow area

Grow Room Equipment / Investments :

  • Dimmable Ballast - this option will allow you to turn lamps down when your temperatures rises
  • Humidifier / Dehumidifier - to keep in the humidity ranges required for plant development stages
  • Extraction Fan & Controller - ensure you purchase one that moves more air than you need 
  • Circulation fans - to increase airflow and reduce hot spots
  • Cool Tube Reflector for extracting heat from the HPS lamp directly out of the growing area
  • CDM / CMH or LED Grow Lights - emitting less heat than HPS Lamps (high pressure sodium)
  • C02 supplementation, Air Conditioning unit, Hybrid Fan Controller, Hailea Water Chillers

Conclusion

With many customers suffering issues with heat as the weather gets warmer..so if you are not adhering to the basics of indoor growing discussed in a previous posts below - then all the equipment, nutrients and additives in the world won't help you - and your flowers, vegetables or plants will be of poor quality, low yield and lack flavor and aroma due to the undesirable growing conditions.
